Vasudha Agnihotri – HR Manager, Windchimes Communications

Life is hectic, let’s make things easy

I have a very busy role as a Human Resources Manager at Windchimes Communications, a Mumbai-based social media agency. I take care of all the human resources related activities, from talent acquisition all the way through to exit formalities, so I am definitely a fan of anything that saves time.

While surfing through social media platforms about six months ago, I discovered SkillPages. The platform is perfect, exactly what I had been looking for. I got a great response from my first job post. Now, I always turn to SkillPages when we need a new hire.

For the Love of Music

Last year I set up a website called Findtradfolk.ie. A niche entertainment website focusing on traditional Irish music events around Ireland. I’ve always been interested in Irish music, both playing and going to events. One day I was chatting to a friend who had relations coming over from America. She wanted to bring them to a trad session but didn’t know where to find one or what time they were on. I realised it was quite difficult to find good Irish music sessions even though they take place all over Ireland every day of the week. I decided to create a website with this information and Findtradfolk was born.

My background is in print journalism for 30 years; writing for newspapers, magazines, and other publications all over the US.  In that time I have been a staff reporter, correspondent and editor.  More recently, I have just completed a book, Finding Home: How Americans Prevail, which is due out in March 2013.  It is a collection of people’s first-hand accounts about their displacement and what they did to find/recreate home again.

I have been on SkillPages for a couple of months and in that time I have discovered terrific resources – people with skills.

At the time, I needed someone to create a blog for me and another to coach me on radio speaking.  A connection of mine told me about SkillPages.  After posting opportunities for each skill I needed, I promptly got responses for each and was able to contact people directly.  I was delighted to easily find people with the necessary skills to help me and I’m currently still working with them.  As an aside, their prices seemed more than fair and they have been a great help.

I look forward to being contacted for my own skills in the future and I definitely will go FIRST to SkillPages to find professional, skilled people to assist me.

Werner Snyman Film Maker

A 20 year old film and television production student close to graduation, the next step is clear and concise: Work and work hard!

Living in South Africa and growing up in a very supportive home I developed a very active imagination.  As I got older I used it to do everything from stage plays, public speaking and being generally entertaining and goofy. When it got time to choose my field of study at 18 I chose Film Production and I must say, this is the most ecstasy my imagination has ever experienced! Continue reading
